There is no hard and fast defi­n­i­tion of this term. It means that a prod­uct or activ­ity does not affect the climate. Strictly speak­ing, this does not only refer to green­house gases, but to all human actions that have an impact on the climate. However, the term is often used synony­mously with CO₂-neutral and green­house gas-neutral.
